In the first shift, the chefs endure three challenges testing speed to impress judge Antonia Lofaso.

Michael Symon and Esther Choi begin the second shift with two chefs in a head-to-head elimination battle that tests simplicity. Then, the 12 remaining chefs are faced with a tricky taste test from judge Graham Elliot.

In a shift that tests resourcefulness, Michael Symon and Esther Choi ask the 11 remaining chefs to create a three-course meal worthy of a black-tie event in 60 minutes. Judge Jet Tila decides which chef will be clocking out.

In hour 13, Michael Symon and Esther Choi challenge the nine remaining chefs to turn breakroom snacks into dessert. Then, the exhausted competitors must turn breakfast ingredients into a different meal entirely for judge Brooke Williamson.

Fatigue mounts in hour 16 as Symon and Choi ask the eight remaining chefs to work in teams to make a soup and sandwich while handling three culinary curveballs. Judges Carlos Anthony and Brian Malarkey decide who moves on to shift seven.
